Oracle Exadata Exalogic v.s. SAP HANA

Still with SAP HANA in-Memory database topics,  comparing to the competitor ,  Oracle Exadata Exalogic v.s. SAP HANA, there is interesting article "The Top 10 Reasons SAP HANA Is Disrupting Larry Ellison’s Grand Plans" from BobEvans blog http://blogs.sap.com/bobevans
with below points:

10) SAP HANA’s a business-technology platform, and Exadata’s a database
9) SAP HANA offers more simplification, while Exadata offers more layers
8 ) SAP HANA simplifies and reduces cost of architecture
7) Exadata’s priority is cannibalization; SAP HANA’s is business insight
6) SAP HANA’s new product leader brings customer perspectives
5) SAP HANA leverages leading partners; Exadata leverages Oracle lock-in.
4) SAP HANA lets customers go beyond Big Data to Extreme Data.
3) Customers are embracing SAP HANA’s focus on delivering new levels of business value.
2) Customers are wary of putting too much control in the hands of any one vendor.
1) Traditional database technologies are simply not powerful enough for our brave new world of Extreme Real-Time Data

regarding Oracle 1

Where can I find the Oracle installation or upgrade CDs?
We must not use Oracle CD/DVD installation obtained from Oracle directly, use from SAP delivery. Create customer message with component XX-SER-SWFL-SHIP if need to request the CDs or download directly from service.sap.com/swdc

Which combinations of Oracle, R/3 and operating systems are permitted?
Depending on the kernel release, review the details in 407314 notes for Netweaver 2004.

Can the data of the Oracle database be encrypted?
there is no direct-encryption supported by SAP for Oracle. Use authorization concept at SAP level, or security setting in network and operating system area. credit card encryption : note 766703; encrypting payment card data : note 858200

Oracle is Red, SAP is Blue

There are many similar actions between the origin country of Oracle and SAP and its respective global product.
We have noticed this month, American Congress passed around 70 billion US dollar for war fund. The reason behind this is the growth from military business selling many war business. Do you see the relation between this phenomenon and fund for hostile acquisition prepared by America corporation like Oracle? The color at least tell their company nature.

Complicated and Troublesome Fussion

I heard Oracle has tried to combine all apps in forms of ERP, BI, etc they have bought into only one platform coded Oracle Fusion or Fussion. I really dont know in detail about this, but in my opinion ... Wow that will be great if Oracle could make Fussion happening. unfortunately this will be only dream for some extent due to complex and unclear blueprint, realization, and support approach at least in my opinion. Is the way to go a migration, upgrade, reimplementation, or complex combination of them?

However combining Peoplesoft, JD Edwards, Oracle ERP (Oracle E-Business Suite), etc which each has different core technology and different project approach for business process for different industry sector is super duper complicated task especially when the release plan is not clearly defined and scheduled for customers. If Oracle think only technology inside them, it is probably still possible to combine them, when considering business process, transaction, and data that customers own, Oracle will play hard with customers.

To release the Fussion in even 2010 is like to deliver a premature Fussion baby. In my opinion it is still looooong way for Oracle to get same of stability level with business-stability of Netweaver platform from SAP. This will be interesting when Fussion is first released, however let's expect only interface-collection runtime inside the baby. Oracle is enough to take part in maintaining nice database.

Oracle lawsuit to SAP

SAP's TommorowNow have downloaded material which Oracle accused as grandscale-theft. However TommorowNow defended the download as part of support for their client client who use Oracle product. It also shows there is security problem in which they can access unlimited content of Oracle material, until now there is no statement of fixing of the security holes. Oracle is hacked, but it is not actually a real hack.

There is also indication of contract weaknesses as reported by a news.

The good thing is SAP have admitted to inappropriate downloads but they stated it's a matter of inappropriate contract-interpretation.

To be contd.
